The Documont AI
We train our AI to understand your documents in-house — on our own servers. And for customers in the EU, our servers are in the EU. All of it GDPR-compliant, of course.
Encryption
Documont encrypts your documents to the official U.S. government standard for classified information up to TOP SECRET (NSA) — in two tiers, both free on every plan. Why two? On the stronger one, only you hold the key: lose your password and recovery codes, and not even we can get to your documents anymore. We think that should be your call.
Files that file themselves
Every person and every company gets a file of its own. All on its own: because Documont AI recognizes who sent a document and who it went to, everything from your landlord, your insurer, the tax office lands in its own file. One click on a name — and the entire paper trail is right there.

Do I have to upload my documents one by one?
No. Connect your inbox, a folder, or your cloud storage once — everything new arrives on its own. Paper? Snap it with the free phone app. Individual files? Just drag them into your browser window.
I’ve got a ten-year backlog. Is that a problem?
No — that’s exactly what Documont is built for. Connect your inbox, and the AI works through everything that’s piled up: year by year, document by document. Whatever’s scattered across folders? Just drag it in. A few hours later, your backlog is an archive — sorted, understood, searchable.
Can Documont change or delete anything in my inbox?
No — technically, it can’t. Documont’s connection only knows how to read: delete, move, and mark-as-read simply don’t exist in it. Your inbox stays exactly as it is.
Who can read my documents?
You. Every document is encrypted individually with AES-256-GCM; on the stronger of the two free encryption tiers, the key stays with you alone and never leaves your device. The AI analysis runs on our own servers in the EU, too — no document ever goes to an external AI provider. The fact that we can’t open your files isn’t a policy. It’s the architecture.
What if I forget my password?
On the weaker encryption tier, there’s the classic “Forgot password?” — we email you a recovery link. On the stronger of the two free tiers, you get ten recovery codes instead: lose your password and the codes, and no one can decrypt your documents — not even us. So keep those codes safe.

Documont BASIC is free forever: 30 new documents per day, no expiration date. Documont PLUS is €9.90 a month (incl. VAT), with no daily limit, month-to-month. We make our money with PLUS. And since some companies handle this differently — to be clear: the content of your documents is never shared with third parties and never used for anything but keeping your files in order.
Can I leave?
Anytime. Deleting your account means everything’s gone — documents, search data, stored credentials. And you’ve had your originals all along anyway: in your inbox and your folders, which we never touched.
